Image result for summerslam 19881988 – WWF would broadcast the very first SummerSlam on this date. This would solidify the name of the Big Four Events, including WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble.

Image result for summerslam 19921992 – WWF would broadcast their very first International PPV as SummerSlam was held in London, England. The broadcast would not be aired, however, until August 31st in the United States. An astounding 80,335 would show up for this event, making it one of the largest international WWF/E events in history. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Washington DC, however, WWF changed their mind to hold it in London as they noticed the popularity of WWF increasing overseas. The original plan for the main event was to have Shawn Michaels go over on Bret Hart to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship, but with the change in venue, WWF decided to have the main event be between Bret Hart and British Bulldog. Due to the tape delay, this event holds not only one of the largest attended events in WWF/E history, but one of the lowest buy rates in their PPV history with only 280,000 ordering.

2012 – Seth Rollins would defeat Jinder Mahal to become the first ever NXT Champion following the NXT Gold Rush Tournament
